Mosu

Manifesto
[01]“Mosu”, named after the Korean pronunciation of cosmos, a flower that Chef Sung Anh remembers vividly from his childhood memories of a flower field near his childhood home. It inspired both the name he chose for his restaurant and his wish to bring rich sensory experiences to visitors.

Sung Anh
Born in Seoul, South Korea, Sung Anh was raised on his grandmother’s cooking, which melded North Korean and Japanese traditions. At a young age, he moved to California, where he had his first experience in a restaurant kitchen helping his parents run the Chinese restaurant they owned. Sung Anh began his career as a chef following his service in the US Army in Iraq and gained experience at several MICHELIN-starred restaurants, including The French Laundry, Benu, and Urasawa, before opening his own project, Mosu San Francisco in 2015. The popular restaurant, which received a MICHELIN star in its first year of operation and retained the star in its second year, featured Sung’s distinctive style of cuisine that harmonises his multi-cultural experiences with meticulous attention to detail. Sung relocated to Seoul in Autumn of 2017 to be closer with his family and currently leads his Two MICHELIN-starred restaurant, Mosu Seoul.
