About

A menu starring specialities from all over India, with contemporary, creative twists. Every course tells a story and diners can truly experience India’s food culture from different perspectives.

With nearly two decades of experience, Tuli has worked in prestigious kitchens across India, London, Mauritius, and Hong Kong. He trained at the Oberoi Centre and gained early recognition as part of the team behind Tamarind in London (one of the first Indian restaurants to earn a Michelin star there). In Hong Kong, he first made a major impact as the founding Chef de Cuisine of Chaat at Rosewood Hong Kong, where he elevated Indian cuisine to fine-dining status and helped the restaurant earn a Michelin star (2022–2023). In late 2023, he left Chaat to launch Leela in partnership with JIA Group (led by Yenn Wong). The restaurant draws its name from the Hindu concept of "divine play" and focuses on creative, upscale interpretations of regional Indian cuisines — especially historic and imperial recipes (such as those from the Mauryan empire) — with an emphasis on sustainability and local sourcing. Tuli was also named Best Chef 2024 at the 100 Top Tables awards. He is known for his jovial personality, innovative yet rooted approach to Indian food, and his journey of overcoming early setbacks to build a successful independent venture.
